The Grand Rapids Opera is coming to the FBA! Scalia/Ginsburg is a nationally touring comic opera inspired by the opinions and unlikely friendship of Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The composer/librettist, Derrick Wang, and Peter Scott Drackley (Antonin Scalia) will join Artistic Director James Meena and our own John Bursch to talk about the musical styles of this unique performance and relationship between the Justices. Don’t miss this very special event on Friday, March 13, 2020 at noon in the jury assembly room of the Grand Rapids federal courthouse. Scalia/Ginsburg will be performed on March 14 and 15 at the Betty Van Andel Opera Center and tickets are selling quickly!
If you would like to order a brown bag lunch for $10.00, please contact Melissa Rabidoux at Melissa_Rabidoux@fd.org by the close of business on March 9, 2020.
The FBA would also like to offer this program to attendees who are not able to make it to the Grand Rapids Federal Courthouse. Space for this remote connection is limited. If you are interested in connecting remotely, please reach out to Susan MacGregor at FBA.Lunch.Remote.RSVP@Kitch.com. She will provide instructions for the remote connection.
We hope you can join us for this special event!
