Bench Bar Conference 2021

The Western Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association Bench Bar Conference will be held September 30 through October 2, 2021, at Mission Point Resort, on beautiful Mackinac Island.

We are honored that the District and Magistrate Judges of the Western District of Michigan are committed to attend the Conference. We are very excited about the topics to be presented at this year’s Conference which will include Employment Law in the Age of Coronavirus; Abuses of the Internet / Privacy in the age of Social Media; Representing the Hopeless Client; Criminal Justice Act Reform; Prisoner Mediation / Litigation; and Appeals.

Highlights of this year’s conference will be special Key Note Speakers Richard Norton Smith, well-known author and presidential historian, who will speak about the Gerald R. Ford Presidency; and Charles Lane, prominent Washington Post editorial writer and columnist and author of several books, who will speak about the origins of the Department of Justice.
